Check the DC-Area Caving Calendar for other scheduled caving activities, including DC Grotto and Baltimore Grotto meetings, special caving events and ongoing cave survey projects.
White Nose Syndrome updates. Bats throughout the Northeastern United States are being severely affected by White Nose Syndrome (WNS), resulting in major declines of bat populations in the affected areas. This has resulted in the closing of many caving areas in an attempt to slow the spread of WNS. For more information on WNS please visit the NSS White Nose Syndrome page for the current information.
Welcome Visitors!
Since you have found your way here you probably have some interest in caves or caving - we hope that you will find something of interest here on our site. While some portions of this site are restricted to members only, we have tried to make as much information as possible available to our guests.
The "Trip Reports and Discussions" section, as the name implies, is a place where you can read something about our activities and ask any questions you might have. The "Photo Galleries" includes cave and caving related photographs contributed by our members and the "Web Links" section provides links to other organizations' web sites and other sources of information.
If you are a member of our caving community, information on our membership requirements is available in the FAQ.
